Pontnewydd Legion Triumph again

Pontnewydd British Legion club once again emerged victorious in the Gwent Superleague this season. Captain Nick Kenny and his team of legends won the league with a game to spare and were conformed champions last week.


Peter Johns, a Gwent legend in his own right finished top of the league averages with an outstanding 54.55 dynamic average and a 100% win record. Since then Peter has been named in the UK Arrows side to face Scottish Arrows in November in Aidrie.


In the final game of the season Nick Kenny hit the highest individual game average across the season with a 34.95 just beating Youngster Connor Hopkins of Crumlin RFC who hit a 34.66 earlier in the season.


The rest of the team played their parts with 6 out of the 9 players finishing in the top 20 in the averages table. Between the team they hit 80 180s with Nick Kenny also taking out a 170 this season.
